 Job Purpose Statement:
The purpose of this position is to serve the assigned customer base in support of our business plans.  Major responsibilities include the successful establishment and continued leading and maintenance of customer relationships, the protection, maintenance, and growth of sales revenues, the ownership of all commercial negotiation of pricing and contracts.  Other responsibilities include technical support and applications development within the assigned customer base.


Personal Characteristics:      

Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in Technical Sales and knowledge of technology and engineered manufactured product. Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports. Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches. Must be prepared for +50% travel.

Work Experience:    10+ years relevant experience in technical industrial sales.  Experience and familiarity of heavy duty brakes and friction products preferred.
Essential Functions:

Develop specific customer accounts and relationships – following up on leads, conducts and leads customer meetings, customer entertainment, etc.
  • Defends and protects assigned book of business, with constant customer service and face to face customer calls.
  • Responsible for representing the company to customers at field events such as customer meetings, conferences, seminars, etc.
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations and to build / reinforce a positive CBF brand promise.

Identifies and defines new opportunities, documents them into the tracking system for quotation process and presents quotations to customers or potential customers.

Develops and closes opportunities  into New Business Awards (NBA)

Writes, negotiates, and closes business contracts as required in collaboration with VP of Sales and Marketing
  • Responsible for implementation and defending price
  • Implement both tactics and long-term sales strategies geared toward greater global market share and profitability.

Communicates customer forecasting and demand signals to the cross function groups which helps drive operation planning and Annual Operating Plans (AOP) activities.
  • Study, analyze, and report on quality of CBF service, customer attitudes, economic conditions, and government controls, with respect of their effects on sales of existing or proposed services.
  • Continually evaluate the timely adjustment of sales strategies and plans to meet changing market competitive conditions.
